Change & Transitions Often Prove Challenging
The Foundation Is Set. Now We Build What Comes Next.
Dear friends,
It is not unusual to experience a more challenging period in our investments, especially after a year of mostly steady progress to the upside.
Not to mention the strength we’ve seen since October 2023, with only a few periods of significant weakness to navigate.
Of course, this is not what people want to hear. However, that’s often how it works.
As active investors, our focus during periods of fear mixed with frustration is to keep doing what we always do: follow the price action wherever and however it leads us next, and continue taking advantage of the asymmetric opportunities we uncover along the way.
To do this, we must stay focused on the right things.
That is much easier said than done.
With the battle for control still underway at the index level this month, there have been meaningful opportunities below the surface for those who are patient and prepared.
I share this even as I move through a major transition of my own.
Change has been difficult.
I loved producing The Kirk Report and the rhythm that came with it. The daily preparation. The extensive weekend prep and deep dives. The structure. The familiarity.
But after 22 years, I knew it was time for something new. A new challenge. More freedom. A more modern format. A broader reach.
Most importantly, a sharper focus on sharing opportunities to learn, grow, and prosper alongside all of you.
Even with a full year of preparation, this transition has tested me more than I expected.
And that’s okay.
Transitions are rarely smooth. In markets or in life.
What matters is direction.
I have a clear plan. I know where I want to take this. And I am committed to building something that makes your time and money invested here exceptionally worthwhile.
Progress may take longer than I initially expected. But I am not uncertain about the destination. And when we reach it, I know you will see why this evolution was necessary.
Until then, I sincerely appreciate your patience and your trust.
Last Week’s Notes
In case you missed them, these are some of the highlights I shared in my notes last week starting with the most recent:
Until the next time, make sure to do something fun this weekend!
