This morning I asked six AI systems (Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Grok, ChatGPT, Meta) the following question:
Which 10 stocks do you think will outperform the most between now and year end?
Below are their selections in the order supplied—not necessarily ranked by conviction. Then we’ll see where they agreed and who went their own way.
The Popularity Contest
Sixty selections. Thirty-four different stocks. Not one unanimous pick.
Each selection gets one vote; equal counts are ties.
Micron and Nvidia take the crown.
Gemini was the only system to skip Micron.
Claude was the only one to skip Nvidia.
Broadcom and Meta Platforms complete the four-stock majority group. Add AMD, Amazon, and Vertiv, and we have seven names selected by at least half the systems.
There’s no clean consensus top ten: six stocks are tied at two votes. The bots gave us a tie, not permission to invent a tiebreaker.
The “Nobody Else Picked This” Club
Twenty-one of the 34 stocks appeared on just one list.
Here’s who went solo on what:
ChatGPT went furthest off-script, with six exclusive selections. Its original top three—SKHY, CRDO, and ALAB—received zero votes from the other five systems.
Copilot was the consensus shopper: nine of its ten selections appeared elsewhere.
And Apple landed on only one list. “Exclusive” in this exercise clearly doesn’t mean “undiscovered.”
Three Things That Jump Out
Copilot and Grok brought almost the same shopping list. They shared seven picks: NVDA, AMD, VRT, MU, AVGO, META, TSM. Their combined 20 selections contain only 13 different stocks.
Claude was the least like the others. Although ChatGPT had more exclusive names, Claude’s entire list overlapped least with the other systems—averaging just two shared stocks per comparison.
ChatGPT’s omissions are as interesting as its selections. Broadcom and Meta Platforms appeared on four other lists but missed ChatGPT’s entirely. Remove ChatGPT’s votes, and AVGO, META, MU, and NVDA all tie for first place among the remaining five systems.
That leaves us with a clear consensus at the top—and plenty of disagreement underneath.
FWIW, I’ve been tracking these systems for the past two years. One AI has consistently outperformed the others by a significant margin, with results nearly double those of its closest competitor.
Which AI is it?
ChatGPT.
